Wonderful day yesterday, including very nice Mark group at the house, and possibility to apprentice with Steve Chandler (extremely popular high-paid coach and speaker, author of 30 books), which made me so excited I lost contact with my senses for about a minute.
I seem to be ‘settling’ into this new life, a lot of my anxieties about the future and finances are clearing, potentially inaugurating a new era of calm productivity / effectiveness in all areas of my life. I continue to feel less obsessive about time also and I’m more ‘in the flow’ of life.
It’s occurring to me that I have been in an intense 6 month process (and perhaps much longer) of internal development / clarifying my values etc, but that I have had very little one-on-one contact with people lately (other than Rebekah and housemates), which is ironic as that is my greatest joy. I feel also that this last period is ending now, moving onto something new, a state much more connected to other people and less ‘in my head’, which is a sweet thing.

The day has been intense, not the relaxing opportunity to connect with friends on a quiet Sunday that I had hoped. The whole family is on edge because of the upcoming visit of the court-appointed child custody psychologist and need to clean the house. Also we still had a lot of mails to send about the Basic Sensuality course, which is now done. I spent the entire first shift building and configuring my new desktop computer, which is now working like a charm. It has been a very trippy experience, the first computer I have ever built from parts, it’s a loaded machine that I built from a used Dell GX280 motherboard for about $250 total. I needed a performance video card to run Second Life, I had to make some modifications to an off-the-shelf case to accommodate the board and I spent at least 2 hours installing the video cards, whose driver disk as supplied by the manufacturer didn’t work. Very resourceful.
I am discovering some extremely interesting things around caffeine. I had a single cup of tea at the beginning of the second shift today, and I went on an intense ‘trip’ that is still going pretty strong 7 hours later. This is actually pretty amazing. The fact that a single cup of black tea (Lipton’s!) can have this kind of effect … I get 75% of the coffee high at 25% of the cost with tea. Of course it is not advisable to do this every day (in fact it needs to stop tomorrow and for 5 days as I begin to focus intensively on income-generation), but still it is extremely interesting.
