Day 26 – end of a wild ride, beginning a new one

by Marc on February 7, 2009

My health back to 75% (as predicted, despite very poor self-care last 2 days).  Spent most of the day in very fun and productive business networking and personal meetings.  Very-very expanded and happy.  No news about the tentative job offer I received yesterday, will wait a few days ("junior contractor" position at an e-learning company, nice entrée and from there we’ll see).

I am taking a new direction today, which is to end my almost 7 week personal development lifestyle experiment and focus on direct income-generation from Monday.  It’s been a good ride and I have learned so much – I am really not even the same person any more.  However, I am ready now to get on with my social and family obligations.

I think the key thing in enabling me to come to this decision was the yoga transformational bootcamp business.  I needed to get that handled – it was important for me to have a long-term development strategy around creating a business in the human development or coaching area.  I wrapped that up today by writing to 5 local yoga studios asking them to sponsor the program.  Rusty Stewart in Abington has offered to promote and host a 2 week program beginning the week of Feb. 16 (after we get back from Shalom Mountain), and hopefully after that I can get a month-long program running near here, or even at Trellis.  I need this for myself, this is a structural imperative for me to move on from here, and I think it could become an important business in a fairly short time and provide a tremendous service to people on a path of personal transformation, like me.

From Monday I will be working 8 hours each weekday on whatever combination of billable hours, professional development or marketing.  If all goes well I will still have the third polyphasic shift for personal development, networking and yoga bootcamp. That would actually be a really great schedule, and depends on how well I can do with the polyphasic sleep and self-care.
